Artificial Intelligence or A.I. is heading towards the infamous AGI with top speed!

Have you ever heard of the term AGI?

No?

It is ok. I guess more than half of the Earth’s population hasn’t heard it either!

AGI stands for Artificial General Intelligence and one of its rather imprecise/inconclusive definitions is the following;

“AGI is a type of Artificial Intelligence that matches or even surpasses human capabilities across a wide range of cognitive tasks.”

 

The AI era

AI Business is booming and by now, as of June 2024, you will start being informed about the new ways of doing business through with the aid of AI. You might already have seen/encountered/noticed an advertisement on Instagram or TikTok creating awareness of AI businesses.

For example, there are new types of agencies called AI Ecommerce Agencies.
Basically, this type of agency transforms and upgrades the “traditional” Digital Marketing Agency into an agency boosted by the powers of an AI algorithm/GPT* model. This potential allows the agency to provide new features to their customers. Features like:

• Predictive user behavior
• Predictive data analytics
• Real-time price adjustment based on your competitors’ prices
• Etc.

These AI features give great value to their customers allowing them to win ground despite stiff competition.

All types of businesses are undergoing/being subjected to a huge transformation.
Some of these businesses will seize this golden opportunity and become the next leaders of the market.
On the other hand, owing to the rapid growth of AI some businesses will cease trading.

Companies like Google, Meta, Anthropic, OpenAI and many more, have already launched incredibly capable AI GPT models that are publicly available to everyone in a freemium pricing model.

Such low prices give everyone the opportunity of a lifetime making it easy to enter “the AI war”. As a result, the competition is already high enough and, as time passes by, it will keep rising.

Do we live in an AGI world?

The answer is probably no.
But Sam Altman and OpenAI brought us the new Chat GPT 4o (4omni), their newest publicly released GPT model. And while it’s not a widely accepted definition of an AGI, it’s certainly pretty close to it!

Chat GPT 4omni is a model that can write, hear, speak and react almost like a human.
It can solve mathematical problems, become your AI stylist via your smartphone’s camera and even keep you company by telling you jokes.
All of that is available at the profound price of 20$/month!

There’s a list of questions (, which are) left to be answered.
But the most important question is the following:

“Are we ready for such advanced technology?”

One thing is certain; AI is not the future.

It is the present.
